Recent Events
We organised a free trip to El Chorro in conjunction with a visit to the blanket factory in San Juan. The day dawned
sunny, although a little cool in the breeze. We met Fiona our guide for the day at 10am opposite the Jupiter Apartments in
Benalmadena. We gave our apologies from Dr Singh, as he could not attend due to illness. All along our coach journey Fiona
pointed out various landmarks, and gave us a little of the history of the areas we passed through. We spent an interesting
couple hours at the blanket factory, where we recieved refreshments of coffee and cakes whilst the demonstration took place.
There were opportunities to purchase items,followed by a free raffle, and before we left we had samples of Moscatel and chocolate.
Fiona asked the driver to take the scenic route up to El Chorro and was most informative en route,as we took in Pizarra and
Alora. Once we arrived at the lakes we had two hours to do as we wished. Most of the guests had a quick snack and wandered
off in search of wildlife. Our return journey took a different route and so allowed us views of eagles as they soared amongst
the valleys, and taking in the village of Ardales. We returned to Benalmadena around 6pm tired but happy, vowing to visit
the lakes again.
